2026 Pennsylvania Coverage Guide

Pennsylvania Health Coverage, Made Clear

Compare Pennie marketplace plans, group and employer coverage, Medicare, dental, vision, ICHRA, and private PPO options, with one independent Pennsylvania agency guiding the path.

Pennie is Pennsylvania's marketplace

Pennsylvania runs its own state based exchange, Pennie, instead of HealthCare.gov. We help you shop it, apply, and claim every dollar of savings you qualify for.

How Pennie works: and how we help

Since 2021, Pennsylvania has run its own health insurance marketplace called Pennie. It is where residents shop qualified health plans and claim the tax credits that lower monthly premiums. If you used HealthCare.gov in the past, Pennie has replaced it for Pennsylvania.

As independent agents, we are a free resource: we compare every Pennie carrier side by side, check that your doctors and prescriptions are covered, and make sure your income estimate captures the full savings you are owed.

What is Pennie?

Pennie is Pennsylvania's official state based health insurance marketplace. It replaced HealthCare.gov for Pennsylvania residents and is the only place to enroll in a qualified health plan while claiming premium tax credits and cost-sharing savings.

When can I enroll?

Open Enrollment runs each fall through winter for coverage starting the following year. Outside that window, a qualifying life event (losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby, or an income change) opens a Special Enrollment Period so you can enroll now. Contact us and we will confirm whether you qualify.

Will an agent cost me more?

No. Your premium is set by the carrier and Pennie, and it is identical whether you enroll on your own or with a licensed agent. Our help is free to you: we are paid by the carrier only after you choose a plan.

How do the savings work?

Pennie uses your household size and estimated income to calculate advance premium tax credits that lower your monthly bill, and in some cases cost-sharing reductions that lower deductibles and copays. We help you estimate income accurately so you get the right amount without a surprise at tax time.

Can you help me keep my doctor?

Yes. Networks differ across Highmark, Independence Blue Cross, UPMC, Capital Blue Cross, Geisinger, and Ambetter. We pressure-test provider networks and prescription coverage before you enroll so your plan actually fits your care.

How It Works

A sharper 3-step path to the right plan.

Start with the coverage type, narrow the real tradeoffs, and bring in a licensed Pennsylvania agent when you want a second set of eyes.

1

Choose a coverage path

Start with individual and family, Medicare, group, ICHRA, private PPO, or dental and vision depending on what you need right now.

2

Compare the real differences

Look at network fit, prescriptions, county availability, Pennie subsidy math, and plan design: not just the headline premium.

3

Talk to a PA agent

When the shortlist is close, use Pennsylvania Health Agents to pressure-test the final decision before you enroll.

Need a second set of eyes before you enroll?

We help you pressure-test network fit, prescriptions, county availability, and the final tradeoffs between close Pennie and off-exchange options, at no extra cost.
